2003-2013
Foundation and early growth
2013 - Cervus incorporated as a business. Cervus established as a UK-based SME focused on defence training and operational analysis. Early work centred on consultancy and experimentation support. Expansion into simulation and analytics for military performance; initial engagements with UAE GHQ, British Army and NATO partners.
2011-2014
Experimentation Leadership
Led instrumented Live Fire Tactical Training (LFTT) experiments for the British Army, including Platoon Combat Experiment and Battlegroup Effects Study. These projects shaped Cervus' reputation for innovative training analytics. Secured UK Government DASA funding for prototype capability demonstrations.
2015-2019
Development and NATO engagement
Transition from consultancy to product-based solutions begins. Early versions of Hive introduced as a data exploitation platform for training environments. Engagement in NATO CAX forums and multinational exercises, positioning Cervus as a trusted SME partner.
2020-2023
Scaling and Strategic Programmes
Cervus doubles in size; recognised as a veteran-owned, SC-cleared SME. Significant involvement in Training Data Exploitation (TDX) campaigns with Netherlands and UK forces. Integration of Al/ML into analytics for operational readiness. Participation in SERAPIS research tasks for digital deception and synthetic environments.
2024-2025
High-Growth Phase and Product Maturity
Hive evolves into a containerised toolkit with advanced analytics; Xcalibr enhances marksmanship training. Cervus becomes part of the OMNIA consortium for the British Army's CTTP programme, Strategic partnerships with By Light, Leonardo, and NATO initiatives. Marketing emphasises Cervus as a high-growth, product-led company transforming defence training through data-led insight.
