What is Forge
Forge is a process and toolset for testing and optimising military capabilities and tactics; providing scientifically robust evidence to support force development decisions.
The components are modular and scaleable to suit your requirements. Experimentation can be delivered as a service by Cervus, or the end user can use the Forge tools.
With Forge iterative force designs and tactics can be tested and optimised within a simulated ‘fail fast, fail early’ environment.

Experimental Design
The opportunities are endless, virtually any independent variable can be tested as part of the experimental design; from tactical schemes of manoeuvre to weapon and armour performance. Forge has delivered experiments at every scale from Company to Corps.

Simulation Design
Forge uses MAK Technologies VR Forces as a powerful multi domain constructive simulation environment. Cervus developed entity behaviours enable simulations to run autonomously or users can operate individual simulations manually. The power of Forge’s complex behaviour trees enables entire tactical scenarios to play out without human intervention for running simulations at scale.
Orchestration
Forge orchestration can deliver hundreds of simulation runs using either secure on-premises or cloud infrastructure. These runs can be used to test a large number of experimental variables and generate a robust data set to ensure the validity of results.
Analysis
Our Hive data analytics engine ingests the data from all simulation runs and produces insights on key performance metrics in order to drive rapid decision making and inform future experimental iterations.
