Meet Alex – our summer Intern

Alex Evans has joined us for a paid 6-week internship over the summer – and has been impressing since his first day.

He is working in our Science and Technology department to develop several new strategies and processes to help us engage new customers – especially in the SME market.

Alex’s background is in Computer Science, Electronics and Maths (at Welbeck College and then the University of Portsmouth) and he has always found himself drawn to the military, development of technology for use in defence and the innovation strategies used in the defence sector.

We at Cervus are strong believers in mentoring and coaching people at all stages of their learning and development journey; there is benefit for both (all) parties involved as we learn from each other, experience a greater number of diverse views and viewpoints, and see things with fresh eyes.  We are always on the lookout for talent – people and their ‘superpowers’ are at the core of our approach and values – we achieve more when we work together.  Alex is no exception to this rule: his enthusiasm is showing through, and we are loving having him in the team – even though the time is flying by!  We all hope that he gets as much from his time with us as we are sure that we will get from him.

Amanda Coleman, Chief Scientific Officer Said:

“I am really pleased that Alex has joined us for the summer – he has dived straight into our Innovation Foundry work and is already making a difference to the way we are looking at innovation partnerships and networks. Welcome on board, Alex!”
